You are playing a new computer game you got online from a website you came across called Reality Games. You press ‘A’ to start. The screen begins to glow brightly. A strange green glow. What is going on? Suddenly, you are sucked into the screen. You are now part of the game. What happens next?
STUCK? Try this story starter:
I stabbed ‘A’ with my finger. I couldn’t wait to play the new game I found on Reality Games. Weird name, right? Anyway, fast techno beats began to be pumped out from my speakers as the words, “Are you ready for a new reality?” appeared on the screen. I selected YES. As soon as I clicked that option, the screen began to glow brightly, a strange green glow and my head felt dizzy. I could feel myself being pulled towards the screen, not towards – in! I was going into the game!
What is Write – 30?
Write – 30 is a daily activity where you write non-stop for twenty minutes then check and edit your work for 10 minutes. You will be asked to write about different subjects and in different forms.
The writing should be done on lined paper in pencil if possible. Edit and check the work in pen. If you don’t have paper and pencil, use what you can. Even a computer.
Finding it difficult? What you can do to help:
- Always sit/work in the same place
- Always use the same writing tools
- Always turn the TV off
- No talking – it distracts thinking
- Always listen to the same piece of classical music when writing.
- Always set yourself a goal: count the number of words. Try to beat that number the following day.
