The Magical Door.
You are wandering an old town when you come across this ancient door. Dare you open it? Your curiosity is too much. Your mother always warned you about it. I got separated from my family in the old town. It didn’t bother me though as they were beginning to annoy. The constant bickering of where to go next was getting on my nerves. I took a left down an alley that ended at a door. It was a strange with wooden carvings in a twisting pattern around the panelling and symbols I didn’t recognise. Dare I open it? My curiosity was always too much for me; my mother calls it my biggest fault. So I gave a hard push. It didn’t budge. Disappointed, I gathered my strength and gave a really hard shove. What is Write – 30?
Write – 30 is a daily activity where you write non-stop for twenty minutes then check and edit your work for 10 minutes. You will be asked to write about different subjects and in different forms.
The writing should be done on lined paper in pencil if possible. Edit and check the work in pen. If you don’t have paper and pencil, use what you can. Even a computer.
Finding it difficult? What you can do to help:
- Always sit/work in the same place
- Always use the same writing tools
- Always turn the TV off
- No talking – it distracts thinking
- Always listen to the same piece of classical music when writing.
- Always set yourself a goal: count the number of words. Try to beat that number the following day.
